Indian Film Movie Review- PK

Say No To Betrayal and Money Making on Faith
google.com
PK is a recently released Indian film that rang bells of many followers of different religions. People tend to hold faith and fear for God. While this strengthens their moral and will for a stable life, some mischief monks take advantage of it. They establish a highly profitable business empire announcing themselves as agents of God. Through this trickery, they snatch millions of money. Religious followers never seem to realize that are being cheated. Instead, they willingly submit to this mischievous deed.

When this film was released, experts of the film industry praised this film highly. Viewers were no different. This film was a box office hit earning a significant amount the first day. However, there was negative scenarios too. Some attested this film as a threat to the Hindu religion. They expressed anger towards the sensor board. Yet, I am not surprised. I believe this wrath of blind people was expected.

This film is wisely directed to protest against business with religion, not against any religion. If we look at the story, we see an alien getting into trouble after his aircraft crashes into earth. He finds the device that powers his aircraft is stolen. Thus, he goes on a search for this tool that enables him to go back to his world. After a thorough investigation, he learns of different Gods and religious rituals. He hopes of gaining his lost tool as a grace from God. He performs rituals of all religions and submits to God.

His faith gets hammered after failing to receive the grace of God. But, finally he comes across his device in the hand of a monk who stole it. That monk is using it as a medium to achieve the faith of the people. Furthermore, he fools people by calling himself an agent of God and saying he calls God with the device.

I was absolutely thrilled when this so-called agent of God was exposed at the end by the mysterious alien, “PK”. He is the face of all betrayed people who were betrayed by all these cheaters.

The film showed “PK” actually received grace and he believes in God. He found his device.  “People can have faith, why do we need to pray to those monks?” I agree with “PK” here. As such I urge all to be careful in this matters. Don’t let your faith be a medium of money making.  Because if you think paying money to those monks will get you closer to God, you are surely trying the “the wrong number”.
