NERDS invading Broadway

Broadway. Yes, you heard me. BROADWAY. Nerds is the newest show to hit the Broadway stage and it is all about celebrating nerds. Spamalot is currently the nerdiest show out on Broadway but Nerds is poised to take the nerdy stage by storm!!

Nerds is currently in the production stage with workshops that were completed in April. The cast includes stars Charlie Pollock (Violet),Wesley Taylor (Smash), Patti Murin (Lysistrata Jones), Kevin Pariseau (Legally Blonde), Rob MorrisonLauren Molina (The Skivvies, Rock of Ages, Sweeney Todd) and Benny Elledge (Chicago). 

Nerds is written by multiple Emmy Award Nominees Erik Weiner and Written by multiple Emmy Award Nominees Jordan Allen-Dutton and Erik Weiner (Adult Swim's Robot Chicken, Bombitty of Errors), with a score by Hal Goldberg (The Children), Nerds is described as: "Before Bill Gates and Steve Jobs were the undisputed titans of technology, they were Nerds. Join America's favorite geeks -- from garage inventors to Silicon Valley mega-billionaires -- on a hilarious musical journey from the floppy disc era to the iPhone phenomenon." (Broadway.com)

Nerds was first presented to the world by the Philadelphia Theatre Company in 2007. Nerds received Barrymore Awards for Outstanding Original Music and Outstanding New Play.

Would cooler, nerdy musicals get you out to see one live? I know I would totally go see Doctor Who or superheroes on the Broadway stage. Who wouldn’t want to see Iron Man really fly?!?!
Now I am also a huge regular Broadway fan so news like this makes me super happy to love the theater and nerdy things.
