When
The Wii U came out in November of 2012, the black Wii U came with a supporting
game. Much like its predecessor before it, which included Wii Sports, was the software to showcase what the Wii U was capable
of. It was an abundant amount of content and at times very challenging, but did
Nintendo lose out on some key opportunities with the launch of Nintendo Land?
Recently
Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors have both contributed to the expansion of their games
with the release of DLC (Downloadable Content). Nintendo of course has done so
with great taste and does not feel in any way like it was rushed or takes away
from the original masterpieces, it just enhances it. But, what if Nintendo Land had come out around this
time instead of at launch?

Are
you thinking what I’m thinking? Well what if Nintendo Land had DLC? You could expand above and beyond the 12
attractions featured inside of the park. Even more so, what if Nintendo used their
amiibo to unlock more attractions or additional content to existing parks?
The
use of amiibo would open new areas, maps, or quests. What if you scanned Link
and you opened up new quests within the Zelda Park? Or you scanned Kirby to
unlock a whole new park featuring some Kirby themed game? Even if Nintendo
didn’t use the amiibo as a means to get DLC why not create a few parks and add
new attractions to keep the game refreshing and current. If you added other
parks, characters, and universes you will keep past users playing and new users
amazed at how Nintendo is keeping them coming back for more. I know not all
games deserve or require DLC, but it seems natural and a perfect fit for this
game type.

Though
Nintendo has already announced future game that will harness amiibos and DLC, I
hope that the content is both necessary and meshes as well as enhances the
overall gameplay. What games do you want Nintendo to enhance with DLC? Where
will DLC take Nintendo, and what amazing things can we look forward too from
the amiibo? My only hope is that I am lucky enough to have the time to play all
these amazing future games, and Nintendo will not miss out on any opportunities
that will show its fans that they are a priority.
As always #keepitnerdy
